Corn Hybrid DN Demeter

Corn Hybrid DN Demeter is a simple, mid-season modified hybrid developed by the Grain Institute of NAAN. It is intended for grain and silage production, showing high yield potential — up to 14.3 tons/ha of grain and 50-55 tons/ha of silage mass. Plants reach a height of 240-250 cm, have cylindrical ears 22-23 cm long with 14-16 rows of yellow, dent-shaped kernels, with 38-42 kernels per row. The 1000-kernel weight is approximately 300-330 g, indicating high grain quality and density.

The hybrid is characterized by rapid early growth and high drought resistance, making it especially suitable for cultivation in Ukraine’s steppe zones. High anthocyanin content in stems ensures good tolerance to brief spring frosts, while high lodging resistance allows for late harvest without significant losses. Additionally, DN Demeter shows tolerance to major corn diseases and pests, including common smut, fusarium rot, and corn borer.

To achieve maximum yields, the hybrid responds well to improved growing conditions, such as application of mineral and micro-fertilizers, as well as irrigation. Recommended growing zones include Ukraine’s steppe and forest-steppe regions. Seeds of Corn Hybrid DN Demeter undergo mandatory quality certification, ensuring high germination and reliability upon planting. Use of the seed treatment Maxim HL provides additional protection against diseases during early growth stages.
