DM Tandem is a simple hybrid corn variety developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAS. The dent-type grain structure provides high test weight and efficient dry-down during maturation. With a growing season of 100–110 days, the hybrid effectively utilizes thermal resources, completing its cycle before seasonal climate shifts occur.

Phytosanitary Protection and Adaptability

A core element of this hybrid's architecture is its genetic resistance to common pathogens. The breeding process specifically focused on reducing risks associated with common corn diseases. DM Tandem shows significant resistance to helminthosporium leaf spot and stalk smut, reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications. Furthermore, its inherent resistance to the European corn borer minimizes structural damage to the stalks, ensuring crop integrity right up to harvest.

Agrotechnical Cultivation Aspects

The flexibility of this hybrid regarding plant density is a key factor for operational efficiency. Seeding rate recommendations depend heavily on environmental moisture levels:

• For extensive farming or low-moisture regions, a density of 45,000–50,000 plants/ha is recommended to minimize competition for soil nutrients and moisture.
• Under optimal moisture conditions or irrigation, the density can be increased to 75,000–80,000 plants/ha to maximize yield potential.
