Maize Korund

Maximizing Grain Yield with "Korund" Hybrid

For agricultural enterprises focusing on commercial grain production, the "Korund" hybrid from NVKF Selekta offers a robust solution for managing biological risks. As a simple dent corn hybrid, it is specifically bred for high adaptability and reliable performance under intensive farming conditions.

Disease Resistance and Crop Health

The primary advantage of the "Korund" hybrid is its genetic resistance package. The crop shows excellent tolerance to common smut, which is crucial for maintaining plant health in varying climatic conditions. Additionally, NVKF Selekta has focused on minimizing losses from Fusarium and stalk smut, ensuring that the harvested grain maintains its quality grade throughout the storage period.

Seeding Density and Field Application

To achieve the genetic potential of the hybrid, seeding density must be adjusted based on water availability and soil fertility:

• 45,000–50,000 seeds/ha: Ideal for areas with limited water resources.
• 70,000–75,000 seeds/ha: Recommended for balanced moisture conditions.
• 75,000–80,000 seeds/ha: Targeted for high-input, well-irrigated fields.

With its dent grain type and a broad maturity range (FAO 90–1240), "Korund" is a practical choice for farmers seeking a predictable, easy-to-thresh crop that integrates well into standard grain production operations.
