DN Caramel — ultra-early hybrid of sweet corn type Sh-2, developed by the Turkish company May Seed. This hybrid is characterized by high early maturity with a vegetation period ranging from 59 to 65 days depending on the growing region, enabling harvest as early as two months after planting. Plants reach a height of up to 130 cm, with the first ear forming at a height of 27–30 cm. Flowering occurs on the 35–40th day of vegetation, ensuring timely ripening and the possibility of three crop cycles per season in southern regions of Ukraine. Caramel features a robust root system and broad leaf surface, promoting rapid sugar accumulation and formation of two full ears per plant under proper feeding. Ear length reaches 24 cm, diameter — 4.7 cm, and average fresh ear yield can reach 24 tons per hectare. The hybrid demonstrates high heat tolerance and resilience to extreme conditions, making it a reliable choice for various climatic zones. Combined with other May Seed hybrids such as Vega and Marta, Caramel allows for scheduled harvest operations. DN Caramel is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic coverings, expanding its application potential. Due to its characteristics, this hybrid is widely used in agriculture to produce high-quality sweet corn with high sugar content. It can be used as a standalone product or in combination with other feed mixtures for diversity and improved feeding efficiency.
