DN Akvozor

DN Akvozor is a mid-season modified hybrid of grain-type sweet corn with FAO 320, registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2014. The breeder of the hybrid is the Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. The hybrid is primarily intended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe zone, but is also adapted to Steppe conditions. Plants reach a height of 205-215 cm, with the ear attached at a height of 80-90 cm above ground. The ear is cylindrical, 22-23 cm long, with 16 rows of light-yellow kernels with an orange background. The kernels are oval-shaped with a toothed type, with a 1000-kernel weight of 300-320 grams and a grain yield of about 83.5%.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major pests and diseases, including corn borer and gray leaf spot, as well as good lodging resistance. Additionally, DN Akvozor shows moderate cold tolerance and good drought resistance, enabling it to withstand adverse weather conditions and respond effectively to improved agronomic practices. Plantings of this hybrid exhibit high uniformity and even growth, contributing to stable yield formation.

The yield of DN Akvozor varies between 9.3-13.8 tons per hectare. The hybrid is characterized by rapid moisture loss before harvest, facilitating harvesting and reducing drying costs. The recommended pre-harvest planting density is 70-75 thousand plants per hectare in the Forest-Steppe and 45-50 thousand in the Steppe. Due to its agronomic characteristics and stress resistance, DN Akvozor is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality corn grain.
