Corn DН Astra is a simple modified mid-early hybrid of Ukrainian selection with FAO 270, registered in the Ukrainian Variety Register since 2018. This hybrid is intended for grain production and is characterized by high yield up to 130 centners per hectare. Plants are tall, reaching a height of 250–270 cm, with ears attached at a level of 110–120 cm above the soil surface. The ear has a length of 22–24 cm, cylindrical in shape with 16 rows of kernels, which are yellow-orange in color and have a dent shape. The thousand kernel weight is 300–310 grams, and the grain yield reaches 83–84%.
Hybrid DН Astra is characterized by high drought, heat, and cold resistance, making it suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions, including the steppe, forest-steppe, and lowland areas of Ukraine. It demonstrates intensive natural grain moisture loss and responds well to improved agronomic conditions. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to vegetative and stem lodging, as well as exhibits high resistance to major diseases and pests, contributing to stable yields.
DН Astra tolerates prolonged plant stand delays, providing flexibility in harvesting timing. Thanks to its adaptive qualities and high productivity, this hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain quality grain under variable climatic conditions and different soil-climatic zones.
