Argo Hybrid

Argo Hybrid is a high-yielding hybrid of sweet corn, developed through cooperation between Ukrainian breeders and Oleon Genetics. This mid-season variety is characterized by high productivity and adaptability to various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and lowland areas. The seeds have a dent type with yellow-orange coloration, and plants reach up to 220 cm in height. The hybrid is recommended for grain, meal, and silage production, with potential grain yields ranging from 118 to 126 centners per hectare and silage yields from 620 to 710 centners per hectare, making it one of the leaders in its group for productivity. One of the key features of Argo Hybrid is its high resistance to adverse environmental factors, including drought, cold, fires, and lodging. The hybrid exhibits excellent resistance to major corn diseases such as rot, gummy disease, fusarium, and cephalosporiosis, enabling successful cultivation even in regions with a higher risk of disease. Thanks to its intensive moisture release and good response to improved growing conditions, Argo Hybrid ensures stable and high yields with minimal care. To achieve maximum productivity, optimal planting density should be followed, which varies depending on the growing region: from 50,000–55,000 plants per hectare in the steppe zone to 90,000–95,000 plants per hectare in the lowland areas. This approach helps eliminate competition between plants and promotes efficient use of soil and water resources. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, Argo Hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality grain and silage yields across various climatic conditions.
