DMS Crook

DMS Crook — a high-yielding, simple hybrid maize of medium maturity, developed by the brand MAIS. It has an FAO index of 310 and is recommended for cultivation in various climatic conditions of Ukraine, including the steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia. The hybrid's vegetation period ranges from 111 to 117 days, ensuring optimal maturation timing and allowing farmers to obtain a stable and high-quality yield. Plants reach a height of 238 to 266 cm, with ear attachment height of 85–95 cm. The kernels are dent-shaped, yellow-orange in color, with 14 to 16 rows per ear, containing 8.7–10% protein and 71.8–72.7% starch. The DMS Crook hybrid is distinguished by high drought and heat resistance, rated at 9 points, enabling successful cultivation even under water deficit. It also exhibits high resistance to major maize diseases such as common smut and gnomosporiosis, as well as to wilting, ensuring crop preservation and quality. Due to its high cold tolerance, the hybrid can be sown at soil temperatures from 10 to 11°C, allowing early planting and successful resistance to late frosts. DMS Crook demonstrates rapid kernel moisture loss at the final stage of vegetation, facilitating harvesting and improving the quality of the harvested material. Plants exhibit strong growth energy in the early vegetation period, promoting rapid progression through initial developmental stages and forming a robust mature crop. The hybrid is highly resistant to most pests and diseases, including corn borer, further enhancing its reliability and profitability for agricultural producers.
