DMS Hammer

DMS Hammer (FAO 360) — a high-yielding hybrid maize variety developed by MAIS selection for achieving maximum yields across various climatic zones in Ukraine. Thanks to its excellent adaptation to weather conditions and stress factors, this hybrid ensures stable and reliable yields even under challenging cultivation conditions. It is suitable for farms focused on high productivity and product quality.

DMS Hammer features a dent kernel type with 14 to 16 rows per ear. Plants reach heights of 214.7 to 234 cm, with ear attachment height ranging from 80.3 to 83.2 cm. The minimum soil temperature for sowing is 10–11°C, enabling successful germination at early planting times. The vegetative period varies by region: 119 days in the steppe, 121 days in the forest-steppe, and 120 days in Polissia.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major diseases and stress factors, including drought (8 out of 9), high temperatures (9 out of 9), downy and gray mildew (9 out of 9 each), as well as pests such as the corn borer (7–9 out of 9). Additionally, DMS Hammer demonstrates high morphological characteristics and grain quality: protein content ranges from 8.2–9.1%, starch content from 72.7–73.5%, and grain yield reaches 80.3–82%. The hybrid’s yield across various regions of Ukraine ranges from 102 to 136 c/ha, confirmed by trials in Ternopil, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
