DMC Orion

DMC Orion is a mid-season hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 300, developed by Maїs Dnipro. It is characterized by high yield potential, reaching up to 15 tons per hectare, and is suitable for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Southern Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie. The hybrid has moderate cold tolerance and high resistance to drought and other stress conditions, ensured by an intensive Stay Green effect that maintains plant viability under adverse hydrothermal conditions.

The vegetation period of DMC Orion ranges from 118 to 125 days, and plant height reaches approximately 190 cm. The kernels are dent-shaped, dark-yellow in color, with high starch content — about 74%, and protein content within 8.5–10%. The hybrid exhibits high water shedding speed, facilitating harvest and subsequent crop processing. Due to its resistance to wind and drought conditions, it ensures stable and high yields even under challenging climatic conditions.

DMC Orion also demonstrates high resistance to major corn diseases and pests, including common smut, corn borer, and corn earworm. Resistance ratings of the hybrid reach 9 points for drought and heat, 7–9 points for diseases and pests, making it a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality and stable yields. The hybrid is recommended for planting in all major agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, confirmed by its adaptability and high productivity.
