DMS Domain is a mid-early hybrid sweet corn with a FAO index of 260, developed by Maïs for cultivation in Ukraine. Its vegetative period ranges from 107 to 110 days depending on the region, allowing optimal harvest timing. Plants reach a height of approximately 240-270 cm, with ears positioned at 85-95 cm. The ear shape is cylindrical, with 14-16 rows of kernels, ensuring high density and quality of yield.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield, which varies by climatic zone: up to 14.5 t/ha in steppe regions, up to 16 t/ha in forest-steppe areas, and up to 16.5 t/ha in Polissia. Record-breaking yields have been recorded in various regions of Ukraine, including Cherkasy, Dnipro, and Zakarpattia. Due to dry leaves at maturity and absence of the Stay Green effect, DMS Domain loses moisture quickly, reducing kernel moisture to 14% and facilitating harvesting.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to lodging, drought, and major pests such as the corn borer, as well as diseases including gray and blister smut. It adapts well to various soil-climatic conditions, except for southern steppe regions with elevated temperatures. Recommended sowing temperature is 10-12 degrees Celsius, and plant density varies by region, promoting optimal growth and maximum yield.
