Corn hybrid Cherkasyky 287 MV is a medium-early simple modified hybrid with FAO 280, developed by the Cherkasy State Agricultural Research Station of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. This hybrid is characterized by high yield, reaching 12-15 tons per hectare, and stable grain output. Plants reach a height of up to 240 cm, the grain is toothed and light-yellow, with a 1000-grain weight of 280-340 grams. Due to its high resistance to drought, cold, and diseases, the hybrid is suitable for early planting at a minimum soil temperature of 10-12 °C.
Hybrid Cherkasyky 287 MV exhibits high resistance to major corn pests and diseases, including corn smut, corn earworm, and stress conditions such as drought and heat, confirmed by ratings on a 9-point scale of 8-9 points. The recommended planting density is 55,000-65,000 plants per hectare. Seed treatment includes the use of fungicidal protectants, which provide additional protection and contribute to obtaining a high-quality harvest.
The seeds of hybrid Cherkasyky 287 MV are produced by the Ukrainian breeding company MAIS, which controls all stages of seed production — from creation to distribution. MAIS hybrids are known for their adaptability to various climatic conditions, low moisture content at harvest, and drought resistance. Cherkasyky 287 MV is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions, confirming its versatility and reliability in agricultural production.
