Maize DN Dnipro

A Reliable Choice for High-Yield Grain Production

The «DN Dnipro» maize hybrid is a strategic asset for operations focused on maximizing grain yield. Belonging to the late-maturing maturity group (FAO 90–1240, 140–160 days), this hybrid leverages long growing seasons to build significant biomass and yield, provided there is adequate moisture availability.

Agronomic Advantages and Pest Resistance

Developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the Steppe Zone of the NAAS, this simple, dent-type hybrid is engineered to perform in demanding farming environments. Its key strength lies in its natural resilience against common field pathogens, which reduces the need for frequent chemical interventions:

• High tolerance to common and head smut, protecting the quality of the harvested grain.
• Strong resistance to the European corn borer, ensuring stalk integrity until harvest time.
• Proven durability against stem smut.

Operational Recommendations

To realize the full potential of «DN Dnipro», it is best suited for intensive farming systems with high-fertility soil. The recommended harvesting density is 80,000–85,000 plants per hectare. Because this is a strictly grain-focused hybrid, it excels in energy conversion into kernel development. When planning your cropping cycle, prioritize regions where the climate supports a longer maturation process, ensuring the plant reaches physiological maturity before frost.
