The variety was obtained by selection from seedlings of free-pollinated Michurin cherry varieties, sent at one-year-old stage from VNIIGiSPR. Originator — Sverdlovsk Selection Station. Authors: N.I. A shrub up to 1.5-1.8 m tall with a wide, rounded crown and spreading branches, medium density, densely branched. Bud 3.7 mm in conical shape, slightly deviated from the shoot. Leaf reverse-egg-shaped, green. Leaves in the upper part of the shoot are emerald green. Apex sharply pointed, base wedge-shaped, double-toothed. Leaf blade surface shiny, medium curvature, folded like a boat. Stipules 2-4, located at the base of the leaf and petiole. Petiole 10 mm long, 1 mm thick, light green. Number of flowers in inflorescence 2-3. Corolla diameter 18 mm, open. Petals white, loosely arranged. Stigma positioned relatively higher than the anthers. Stigma length 12 mm, anther length — 6 mm. Calyx shape cup-shaped, strong toothed. Fruits borne on panicle branches and one-year growth.
Fruits weighing 3-4 g (up to 4.5-5 g in amateur gardens), round, height 16 mm, width 18 mm, thickness 6 mm. Fruit depression medium, apex rounded. Fruits dark red. Flesh red, medium density, juice red. Pedicel length 36 mm, thickness — 1.4 mm. Stone broad-egg-shaped, mass 0.25 g, which constitutes 7.1% of fruit mass, brown. Apex and base narrowly rounded, stone detaches easily from flesh. Fruits attractive in appearance, rated 4.5 points, flesh juicy, sour-sweet, good taste. Sensory evaluation of fresh fruits 4.5 points. Fruit detachment from pedicel dry. Fruits resistant to cracking. Variety for table and technical purposes. Fruits contain soluble solids — 13.6%, sugars — 6.8%, acids — 1.3%, ascorbic acid — 12.8 mg/100g, vitamin P — 306.7 mg/100g.
Flowering late (May 30 — June 8). Fruit ripening late — in the second half of August, simultaneous. Enters fruiting at 3 years. Self-sterile. Yield good. Longevity of rootstock plants high — more than 30 years, with timely rejuvenating pruning. Good winter hardiness of wood and buds. Drought-resistant. Susceptible to coccomycosis and moniliosis. Slightly damaged by cherry leaf roller and cherry aphid.
The variety has high productivity rating in Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions' farms, suitable for industrial, amateur cultivation, and also as a selection resource (winter hardiness, yield, good fruit quality). Suitable for intensive cultivation.
