Seedling of Large-fruited No. 6 from open pollination. Originator — Tatarian Research Institute of Fruit Growing. Authors: A.M. Tveritinov, N.M. Rostochkov, L.A. Sevastyanova. Introduced into the State Register in 1988 for the Middle Volga region.
Tree of medium height; crown round, medium density and foliage; mature shoot has strong silvering; buds medium, vegetative conical, generative ovate, strongly deviated from the shoot; leaf inversely ovate, dark green; anthocyanin absent; apex rounded, base broadly wedge-shaped, serrated edge doubly saw-toothed, plate surface shiny, pubescence absent, plate flat, weakly curved upward like a boat; petiole short, thick, with weak anthocyanin at base; flowers medium, petals touching, white, stigma positioned relatively higher than stamens; calyx cup-shaped. Flowering and fruiting type mixed.
Fruit: mass 4.3 g, height 19 mm, width 22 mm, thickness 20 mm, shape broadly round, funnel shape medium, apex shape finely grooved, color red, flesh color red, juice color light red, flesh density medium. Peduncle 38 mm long, short, thin. Pit rounded, average mass 0.3 g, constitutes 6.8% of fruit mass, color light brown, apex rounded, base rounded, detachment from flesh medium.
Fruit appearance good; flesh juiciness medium; taste average, slightly sour. Dry matter content — 12.55%, sugars — 10.34%, acids — 1.85%, ascorbic acid — 14.6 mg/100g. Dry detachment from peduncle; suitable for mechanized harvesting; fruit cracking resistance medium. Universal-purpose variety.
Flowering period — 2nd–3rd decade of May; ripening early-medium, even. Yield — 12.5 t/ha. Age of fruiting late (4–5 years after planting); tree longevity medium. Self-sterile variety. Tree and shoots resistant to winter frosts; generative buds and flowers medium resistant to winter frosts and spring frosts. Drought resistance medium; heat resistance medium. Medium resistant to coccomycosis. Resistant to gummosis (gommosis); medium resistant to cherry fruit fly.
This variety may be used as a selection resource, but not suitable for intensive orchards.
Advantages of the variety: winter hardiness, yield, good rooting of green cuttings.
Disadvantages: self-sterility, average fruit taste.
