Cultivar developed at the Institute of Irrigated Horticulture named after M.F. Sidorenko of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences from a cross between plum 'Lyubskaya' and cherry 'Solnechny Shar'. Breeders: V.A. Turovtseva and N.I. Turovtsev. Introduced into the State Register in 1996 for the North Caucasus region.
Tree is vigorous, with a spherical crown. Bark on the trunk and branches is flaking, gray. Shoots are thick, straight, brownish-gray. Numerous large, gray, pea-like structures. Leaves are large, broad, egg-shaped, dark green, smooth. Leaf blade is concave and curled downward. Leaf apex is pointed, base is rounded. Leaf margin is serrated. Petioles are short, thick, pigmented. Stamen are large, round, colored, arranged in 2-3. Flowers are double and triple, large, white. In 100 fruit buds, there are 284 buds. Bears fruit on cluster branches and one-year growth.
Fruits are large, one-dimensional, round-heart-shaped, with rounded apex, base with indentation, small and narrow pit, small and inconspicuous ventral suture. Average fruit weight is 8.5 g. Pedicel is medium length, thick, easily separates from branch, attachment to stone is weak. Fruit color is dark red. Skin is thin, easily separates from flesh. Flesh is dark red, tender, juicy. Juice is red. Stone is medium, round, free. Taste is sour-sweet. Fruits contain 17.4% dry matter, 10.9% sugars, 1.51% acids. Sensory evaluation 4.5 points, universal use.
Self-sterile. Best pollinators — 'Shalunyia', 'Samsonovka', and cherry cultivars 'Valeriy Chkalov', 'Krupnoplodnaya', 'Franz Iosif'. Grafted trees start bearing fruit in 3 years after planting in orchard. In Melitopol, fruits ripen June 28-30. Average yield from 10-year-old trees — 45 kg, maximum — 72.1 kg. Drought-tolerant. Winter hardiness is moderate. Trees withstand frosts down to -25.1°C without visible damage, but flower bud mortality in buds reaches 86.4%.
