Seedling of Tveritinovskaya from open pollination by Tatar Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture. Authors: L.A. Sevastyanova, V.A. Naumov. Introduced into the State Register in 1998 for the Middle Volga region.
Medium-sized tree; round, dense crown of medium leafiness; branch with medium silverness; medium buds, vegetative conical, generative egg-shaped, strongly deviated from the branch; leaf inversely egg-shaped, dark green, no anthocyanin; apex obtuse-pointed, base wedge-shaped, double-tipped serration on the edge, matte and flat surface of the blade; petiole short, thin, coloration with weak anthocyanin at the base; number of flowers in inflorescence small (2-3), small, petals arranged freely, white. Mixed flowering and fruiting type.
Fruit: weight 3.7 g, height 20 mm, width 19 mm, thickness 16 mm, shape broadly oval, shallow oval cavity, oval apex, black-red color, dark-red flesh color, dark-red juice, medium flesh density; pedicel medium (45 mm), thin; stone oval, weight 0.2 g, 5.4% of fruit weight, light-brown, oval apex; base narrowly round, medium detachment from flesh.
Fruit appearance excellent; flesh juiciness medium; flavor very good, slightly acidic-sweet; dry detachment from pedicel; suitable for mechanized harvesting; medium resistance to fruit cracking; universal purpose variety. Dry matter content — 12.02%, sugars — 10.12%, free acids — 1.55%, ascorbic acid — 18.17 mg/100g.
Flowering period — 2nd-3rd decade of May, medium; ripening medium-late, uniform; age of fruiting medium (on 3rd year after planting); tree longevity 16-18 years; partially self-fertile. Yield — 4.4 t/ha. Tree and branches moderately resistant to winter frosts; generative buds and flowers sensitive to winter frosts and spring frosts. Drought and heat resistance medium; moderately resistant to coccomycosis, gummosis (gommosis), and cherry sawfly.
Commercial evaluation of the variety is average; use — as a selection resource, for amateur and industrial cultivation; suitable for intensive orchards.
Advantages of the variety: high-quality dessert fruits, good rooting ability of green cuttings, high regeneration capacity.
Disadvantages of the variety: insufficient drought resistance, sensitivity of generative buds to winter frosts and flowers to spring frosts, uneven fruit ripening.
