Kalisto F1

Carrot variety Calisto F1 is a mid-season hybrid characterized by high yield and excellent commercial qualities. The roots are cylindrical, intensely orange, 20–22 cm long, weighing 81–135 grams. The flesh is red with a small core, providing a pleasant taste and high rating on a five-point scale. Thanks to its high storability, the carrot retains its quality and freshness throughout the winter, making it convenient for long-term storage and use.

Calisto F1 has an increased carotene content — from 16.7 to 18 mg per 100 grams of raw weight — making it especially beneficial for children, people with metabolic disorders, and vision problems. The hybrid is recommended for fresh consumption, processing, and harvesting as bunches. The period from germination to technical maturity ranges from 92 to 110 days, enabling cultivation in various climatic zones, including Ukraine, Moldova, and Russia.

For successful cultivation of Calisto F1, plant on sunny areas with loose, fertile sandy-loam or light clay soils with deep plow layers. Best preceding crops include cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and early potatoes. Sow at a depth of 1–2 cm with row spacing of 20 cm and plant spacing of 4 cm. The hybrid exhibits moderate resistance to diseases such as fusarium, white rot, and black rot, contributing to stable yields and reduced losses.
