Carrot Berkos

Czech breeding for your harvest

The Berkos F1 carrot hybrid, officially registered in Ukraine in 2025, represents a modern solution for professional vegetable farming. Developed by Czech breeders, this hybrid is adapted to a wide range of soil and climatic conditions, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya zones.

Purpose and Market Quality

The primary focus in developing Berkos was on versatility and maintaining marketability during long-distance logistics. The roots possess high density, making them ideal for:

• Fresh Market: an attractive appearance and uniformity allow for successful sales in supermarket chains.
• Long-term Storage: the hybrid demonstrates excellent shelf life, maintaining its flavor and turgor throughout the winter period.
• Processing: the homogeneous structure of the flesh simplifies mechanical peeling and slicing, which is highly valued by processing plants.

The transportability of Berkos ensures that the harvest can be delivered over long distances without losses, which is critical for large-scale farms working with wholesale buyers. The stability of yields across different agro-climatic zones of Ukraine makes this hybrid a reliable tool for crop rotation planning and securing consistent profitability.
