Carrot Akat

Czech breeding for Ukrainian fields

The 'Akat' carrot is a fresh take on root crop productivity, introduced by Czech breeders. As a first-generation hybrid (F1), this variety was officially registered in Ukraine in 2025, addressing the demand from farmers for yield stability in changing climatic conditions.

Adaptation geography

The key advantage of 'Akat' lies in its broad ecological plasticity. The hybrid has passed state registration with approval for cultivation in all major agro-climatic zones of the country:

• Steppe — where resistance to high temperatures and moisture deficit is critical.
• Forest-Steppe — with its variable moisture regime.
• Polissya — where the variety demonstrates excellent performance on light soils.

This coverage of territories (SLP) makes 'Akat' a versatile tool for both small farms and large agricultural holdings aiming to standardize seed material across vast areas.

Market positioning

The introduction of 'Akat' in 2025 marks a shift toward hybrids designed with modern requirements for mechanized harvesting and long-term storage in mind. Unlike varietal counterparts, the F1 hybrid ensures uniformity of root crops, which minimizes losses during commercial processing. The Czech breeding school traditionally emphasizes the balance between taste and storability, and 'Akat' fully aligns with this strategy, offering growers predictable results in field conditions of any complexity.
