Description Berlanda F1
Carrot Berlanda F1 is a medium-maturing hybrid of the Berlikum type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. This variety is successfully grown under various climatic conditions and is characterized by stable yields reaching 50-55 tons per hectare when agronomic requirements are met. The vegetation period is approximately 113 days from sowing, allowing for a high-quality harvest at optimal times. Seeds germinate uniformly and quickly; the recommended sowing rate is from 600,000 to 1.2 million seeds per hectare. Suitable for planting in moist, loose soil or ridges, with regular thinning, watering, and weed control. Nitrogen fertilizers and manure application should be limited to avoid deteriorating the flavor of the roots.

The roots of Berlanda F1 carrots have a cylindrical shape with a rounded end, measuring 17-20 cm in length and weighing 200-300 grams. They exhibit a vibrant orange color without green edges at the base of the leaf stalk, indicating high market quality. The core is uniform and fiber-free, ensuring juiciness and sweetness of the fruits. High content of carotene, vitamins, and sugars makes this variety particularly nutritious and tasty. Thanks to its smooth surface and short root tail, the carrot is easy to transport and store, making it suitable for fresh consumption as well as processing into juices, purees, vegetable mixes, canned goods, and dried products.

The variety shows resistance to major diseases such as alternaria and cercospora, as well as cracking and greening of the crown. It does not produce flower stalks, enhancing harvest quality. Berlanda F1 carrot is suitable for both industrial-scale cultivation and home gardens, adapting well to various soil types. For optimal growth, phosphorus-potassium fertilizers are recommended. This hybrid has proven its market success due to its high quality, nutritional value, and versatility in use.
