Ornamental cabbage of the variety Golub purpurovaya F1 is an annual plant reaching 25-35 cm in height with a rosette diameter of 30-35 cm. The outer leaf blades are a rich green color, while the inner ones are purplish, giving the plant a decorative effect reminiscent of flowers. There is space between the leaves, making the culture look especially impressive. Ornamental cabbage leaves are edible and are often used to decorate dishes, giving them a bright and original appearance.
Growing cabbage begins with sowing seeds at the end of March - beginning of April, placing 1-2 seeds in a pot and covering them with a soil layer no more than 1 cm thick. At temperatures of 18–20°С, seedlings appear within 3–5 days, after which the temperature is lowered to 12-16°С to prevent young plants from stretching. When 2-3 true leaves appear, seedlings are transplanted into larger containers. 30-35 days after germination, seedlings are transplanted to a permanent location with a spacing of 30х45 cm. Cabbage acquires a rich leaf color by late August, and its full beauty is revealed after the first frost. Mature plants withstand temperatures down to -10°С and can tolerate 2-3 replantings per season.
Ornamental cabbage Golub purpurovaya F1 differs not only in its attractive appearance but also in cold hardiness, allowing it to be used in landscape design during the autumn period. Due to the edibility of the leaves, it is also applied in culinary arts for dish decoration, making it a versatile plant for gardeners and lovers of original decorative cultures.
