Cucumber MAXIMUS — an early-maturing hybrid predominantly of female flowering type, intended for cultivation in open ground and in spring polytunnels without heating. The vegetative period from germination to the onset of fruiting is 45-50 days, and fruiting lasts 45-60 days. The plant forms a strong bush with lateral branches and weak branching, with three or more female flowers forming at each node, which contributes to high yield even in northern regions and under sharp temperature fluctuations. The fruits of cucumber MAXIMUS have a regular cylindrical shape, 9-12 cm long and up to 115 g in weight. They are characterized by an intense green color with blurred light stripes, large bumps, and white hairs. The flesh of the fruits is juicy and crisp, without bitterness, making them suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling, canning, marinating, and fermentation. The length-to-thickness ratio of the fruit is approximately 3.4:1, ensuring an attractive appearance and ease of use. The MAXIMUS hybrid is valued for its high resistance to a complex of cucumber diseases, including olive spot, false and true powdery mildew, and cucumber mosaic virus. Due to these qualities and its ability to maintain good yield under adverse weather conditions, this variety is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones, including northern areas and sites with cold fogs. Additionally, cucumber is a source of mineral salts and iodine, enhancing its nutritional value.
