Strawberry variety "Barabinskaya" is a mid-late, non-everbearing variety of universal purpose with high yield and good winter hardiness. Bushes are of medium size, dense and spreading, well-leafed, with numerous red, moderately hairy runners. Leaves are of medium size, green, with a characteristic oval-rhombic shape of the middle lobe, slightly hairy and shiny. Flowers are bisexual, white, medium-sized, located on peduncles that are at the level of leaves. Inflorescences are semi-spread and multi-flowered, fruit stalks are thin and long.
Fruits of the "Barabinskaya" variety have an egg-shaped form without a neck, dark maroon color with yellow achenes, which are located superficially. Average fruit weight varies from 8.7 to 16 grams, maximum reaches 17.2 grams. Fruits are distinguished by good transportability and attractive appearance. Fruits contain about 7.4% sugars, 1.4% acids and 47.9 mg% of vitamin C, providing a sour-sweet taste with a sugar-to-acid ratio of about 5.3.
The variety is distinguished by high yield, which on average is about 87 c/ha, and according to some data reaches 12.7 t/ha. It is resistant to powdery mildew, gray mold and strawberry mite, has high heat resistance and medium drought resistance. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to choose sunny areas with fertile soil. Parent varieties are "Feya" and "Torpedo".
