Basil MOSCVORETSKY SEMKO

A Spicy Classic with a Clove Accent

"Moskvoretsky Semko" from the breeding and seed company "Semko-Junior" is a purple basil variety that has firmly established itself in both professional and hobbyist vegetable growing. Its reputation is built on stability and a distinct aroma profile. Unlike many varieties that prioritize decorative traits, "Moskvoretsky" was developed with a focus on culinary excellence, where clove notes dominate, adding depth and character to any dish.

Agrotechnical Features

The plant grows as a compact bush, reaching 30–40 cm in height. Its elongated, deep purple leaves are not only visually striking in the garden but also highly productive, yielding up to 2–3 kg per square meter with proper care. The variety is valued for being low-maintenance while maintaining its intense color and the rich chemical composition that defines its flavor profile.

Culinary Applications

This basil is a versatile tool in the kitchen, excelling in several key areas:

• Salads: Fresh leaves add a spicy kick to summer vegetable medleys.
• Seasonings: Whether dried or fresh, it serves as an excellent base for signature sauces.
• Marinades: Thanks to its prominent clove aroma, it is indispensable for canning, creating an exceptional flavor bouquet for preserved tomatoes and cucumbers.

The brand reputation of "Semko-Junior" ensures varietal purity, which is critical for achieving consistent results. For those seeking a basil with a strong, authentic aroma, "Moskvoretsky Semko" remains one of the most balanced options available to growers.
