Cress TALYSHSKYI

Freshness from the field: The «Talishskyi» cress variety

Registered in 2024, the «Talishskyi» variety is a new selection from the M. M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden, designed for those who value nutrient-rich greens in their daily diet. The variety is specifically adapted for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Polissia regions, demonstrating excellent growth vigor and early maturity.

Market quality and culinary use

«Talishskyi» is intended exclusively for the fresh produce market. Thanks to its morphological characteristics—long, wide leaves and a moderately dense rosette—the crop offers an attractive commercial appearance. The absence of anthocyanin pigmentation in the sprouts and the tender texture make it an ideal component for salad mixes, food garnishing, and vitamin-rich smoothies.

• Appearance: The plant forms a tall rosette with semi-spreading leaves, which facilitates the harvesting process.
• Gastronomic properties: The leaves have a moderate green color and a pleasant, mild taste characteristic of high-quality cress.
• Agricultural advantages: Early flowering allows for quick harvesting, while the presence of linear stem leaves increases the total yield per unit area.

This variety is an excellent choice for farms specializing in microgreens and early-season produce for local markets and restaurants. The stability of its characteristics, confirmed by state registration, ensures predictable results when following standard agricultural practices in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe zones.
