TSKHA 15

TSKHA 15 is a mid-ripening spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety with a vegetation period of 73 to 91 days, belonging to the nudans variety. The plant is short-stemmed, with a height of about 59 cm, and has a semi-upright intermediate bush. The ear is pyramidal, cylindrical, of medium density, with a waxy bloom, large grain, with an unpubescent abdominal groove and embracing lodicules. Anthocyanin coloring of the flag leaf ears varies from moderate to strong, and the waxy bloom on the sheath is strongly expressed. The variety is resistant to lodging and ear drooping, which contributes to crop preservation and facilitates harvesting.

TSKHA 15 is distinguished by high adaptability and resistance to cold stress factors at early development stages. It shows moderate resistance to diseases such as black point and dark brown leaf spot, and is resistant to net blotch, rhynchosporium, powdery mildew, and brown rust. At the same time, the variety is susceptible to powdery smut and moderately susceptible to stripe blotch, which requires mandatory seed treatment with fungicides with insecticides and one fungicide treatment before heading.

The average yield of the variety in the Central Black Earth region reaches 54.4 q/ha, and in the Kursk region - up to 75.4 q/ha, with maximum indicators up to 109.8 q/ha. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 40 to 54 grams, protein content in grain reaches 14%. The variety is recommended for brewing and fodder use. To achieve high yields and protein content above 13%, nitrogen fertilizers in doses up to 100–120 kg/ha d.v. and phosphorus-potassium fertilizers up to 60 kg/ha d.v. are recommended.
