Barley LIVAGO

LIVAGO is a mid-early variety of spring barley for brewing purposes, distinguished by high productive tillering and resistance to lodging. The plant features a medium-height, short-stemmed type with a semi-upright tiller and a well-developed root system, ensuring good adaptation even on poor soils. The ear is pyramidal, loose with medium density, featuring long awned awns and strong anthocyanin coloring at the tips. The grain is large to very large, with thousand-grain weight reaching 44-55 grams. The vegetative period is 72-81 days. The LIVAGO variety has been included in the State Register for the Northwestern, Central Black Earth, and Middle Volga regions and is recommended for cultivation in the Kaliningrad, Kursk, Orel, and Tambov regions. It demonstrates high ecological plasticity and resistance to powdery mildew, contributing to stable yields. The maximum registered yield reached 102.4 centners per hectare in the Kursk region in 2020, while protein content in the grain can reach 10.5%. LIVAGO is a new high-yielding variety that, thanks to its characteristics, is ideal for beer production and cultivation on various soil types, including less fertile ones. Medium-low height barley with high grain size and good productive tillering ensures efficient resource use and high yield return, making it an attractive choice for agrarians focused on quality raw materials for the brewing industry.
