Description TSKHA 14
TSKHA 14 is a spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety developed by the scientists of the Department of Genetics, Selection and Seed Production of RGAU-MSKHA named after K.A. Timiryazev. It belongs to medium-late or medium-early varieties and is intended for grain-forage use. The variety is characterized by high yield, which in various regions ranges from 30.7 to 36.7 centners/ha, and in variety tests can exceed 50 centners/ha. The mass of 1000 grains varies within 41-57 g, indicating large-grainedness and high grain quality. Protein content in the grain reaches 11.4%, making it valuable in terms of quality.

TSKHA 14 has good resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring yield stability under unfavorable weather conditions. The variety is moderately resistant to powdery scab, as well as dark brown leaf spot and root rots, enhancing its reliability during cultivation. However, in some regions, the variety may show susceptibility to powdery scab, which requires attention during agro-technical measures.

Recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central, Volga-Vyatsky, and Middle-Volga regions, as well as the zone of the northern forest-steppe of the Pre-Urals. Thanks to its adaptive properties and high productivity, TSKHA 14 is a promising variety for grain-forage production, providing a stable and high-quality barley yield.
