The Perrero corn hybrid is a mid-early, double-row variety with high yield potential, adapted for cultivation in forest-steppe and Central Chernozem zones. Plants reach a height of 310-330 cm, have strong stems and good resistance to wilting, as well as high resistance to stalk rot and corn borer. The vegetation period is approximately 122 days, meeting regional standards, and the grain moisture at harvest is 30.6%.
The ear of Perrero is long, thick, and slightly conical, with 14-16 rows of cream-colored, tooth-like kernels. The 1000-kernel weight varies from 320 to 360 grams, and the kernel color is yellow-orange with an intermediate type, closer to cream. The leaves are broad and slightly curved, with a small angle between the leaf blade and stem. The tassel exhibits medium spikelet density, weak anthocyanin coloration, and early-to-medium flowering time.
Perrero is included in the State Register of Selection Achievements of Russia for the Central Chernozem and Middle Volga regions for use as both grain and silage. The average grain yield in the Central Chernozem region reaches 68.9 centners per hectare, 40.6% higher than the standard, with a maximum recorded yield of 150.7 centners per hectare. The grain dry matter content exceeds standard values, making this hybrid attractive for agricultural production.
