Pereyaslavskyi 230 SV is an early-maturing corn hybrid with FAO 230, developed by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine and Cherkasy DSDDS of the NNC 'IZ NAN'. It has been registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register since 2008 and is recommended for grain and silage production in various climatic zones of the country, including the Forest-Steppe, Steppe, and Polesie regions. The vegetative period of the hybrid ranges from 114 to 120 days depending on the region, ensuring early maturity and stable yields. Plants reach a height of 150-250 cm, have 10-13 above-ground nodes and 16-18 leaves, and form one or two large cylindrical ears 16-20 cm long with 16-18 rows of kernels and a red cob.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield and resistance to adverse conditions. Its yield potential ranges from 9.5 to 11.7 tons per hectare, with grain yield upon threshing reaching 76-82%. The grain is cream-colored, with a 1000-kernel weight of 280-300 g, containing 8.7-11.5% protein, 74.5-75.9% starch, and 3-4% fat, making it suitable for flour production. The hybrid exhibits good drought and cold resistance, high resistance to lodging, stalk and root rot, as well as diseases such as powdery mildew, rust, helminthosporiosis, and stem fusarium. Additionally, it is tolerant to corn smut.
Pereyaslavskyi 230 SV is convenient for harvesting due to strong ear attachment, loose husk cover, and easy detachment from the plant, making it suitable for combine harvesting. The hybrid demonstrates accelerated moisture loss during maturation, facilitating timely harvest. Due to its versatility and stable yields across various climatic conditions in Ukraine, this hybrid is one of the best options for cultivation both in northern and southern regions of the country, as well as for late and post-harvest planting.
