Barley RGT PLANET

The Benchmark of Intensive Farming: RAGT Planet Barley

French breeding from RAGT has brought the RAGT Planet variety to the market as a high-performance solution for intensive farming. As a two-row spring barley, it has gained a reputation across Europe for delivering consistently high yields and excellent grain quality, even within a tight 80-90 day vegetation period.

Key Agronomic Features

The standout characteristic of RAGT Planet is its exceptional grain weight, ranging from 42 to 52 grams per 1,000 seeds. Its short-stalk morphology (60-70 cm height) provides outstanding lodging resistance, allowing farmers to apply intensive fertilizer programs without the risk of crop collapse. This combination of structural strength and yield potential makes it a favorite for growers aiming for top-tier commodity grain.

Disease Resistance and Plant Health

RAGT Planet is bred to withstand significant phytosanitary pressures. It shows strong resistance to net blotch and dwarf rust, which are often the primary yield-killers in spring barley production. Furthermore, the variety demonstrates effective defense against:

• Rhynchosporium (leaf scald)
• Powdery mildew
• Various rust species
• Mycosphaerella spot

This genetic robustness allows for a more efficient fungicide strategy, reducing the overall cost of crop protection throughout the season.

Is it the right choice for your farm?

RAGT Planet is designed for growers who prioritize precision farming. While it requires strict adherence to planting windows to capitalize on its 90-day maturity cycle, its plasticity and reliability are unmatched. If you are looking for a variety that balances heavy grain weight with disease tolerance, RAGT Planet provides a solid foundation for your spring harvest.
