KRAUF

Krauf is a medium-early spring barley variety intended for grain-fodder use. The vegetation period ranges from 63 to 84 days, allowing for efficient cultivation under various climatic conditions. The plant is of medium height, with a semi-erect bush, resistant to lodging and drought. The ear is cylindrical, of medium density, with long bristly awns and strong anthocyanin pigmentation of the tips. The grain is large, with the 1000-grain weight ranging from 39 to 57 grams, and a high protein content up to 14.5%.

The Krauf variety is characterized by high adaptability to soil and climatic conditions, possesses a powerful root system, which ensures good drought resistance and cold hardiness. It demonstrates high responsiveness to fertilizer application, which allows increasing the yield up to 78%. In field trials, the variety showed resistance to powdery mildew, net blotch, speckled blotch, and root rot, as well as medium resistance to loose smut.

The yield of the Krauf variety varies depending on the region and growing conditions: in the Volga-Vyatsky region it is about 39.9 centners/ha, in the Central Volga region — 34.1 centners/ha, in the Urals — 24.0 centners/ha, in the West Siberian region — 42.1 centners/ha, with maximum indicators up to 81.2 centners/ha, recorded in the Tomsk region. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Kirov, Sverdlovsk, Orenburg, Kemerovo, and Tomsk regions, as well as in the Perm Krai and the Republic of Bashkortostan, which confirms its wide regional adaptability and high productivity.
