Barley CB Score

CB Score — a spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety, characterized by its medium-early maturity and medium height. The vegetation period ranges from 65 to 88 days, allowing successful cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Volga-Vyatka, Ural, West Siberian, East Siberian, and Far Eastern regions. The variety is recommended for cultivation in areas such as Orenburg, Kemerovo, Tyumen, Amur, as well as in the Republic of Bashkortostan and territories of Zabaykalsky, Primorsky, and Khabarovsk regions. The plant has a short or medium-length stem, resistant to lodging, which helps preserve yield and facilitates harvest.

CB Score exhibits high drought resistance and resistance to several diseases, including powdery mildew and root rots, confirmed by field trials. However, the variety is moderately susceptible to helminthosporiosis and stripe spot. The ear is cylindrical, medium density, with a distinct waxy coating, which is a characteristic trait of the variety. The 1000-grain weight varies between 35–52 grams, indicating good grain quality.

The variety belongs to the nutans type and has high protein content — up to 13.7%, making it attractive for the brewing industry. The average yield in the Central region reaches 35.6 centners per hectare, with a maximum of 83.8 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity. Due to its combination of resistance to adverse conditions and high technological parameters, CB Score is a reliable choice for agricultural producers aiming to obtain high-quality and stable barley yields.
