Barley variety Gama is an agricultural crop subjected to scientific research aimed at improving genetic traits and increasing yield. Specifically, irradiating Gama barley seeds with cesium-137 gamma radiation at a dose of 2 Gy resulted in reduced germination and delayed plant development, but simultaneously increased grain mass and grain yield per plant. Barley showed increased stem height and a slight increase in the number of grains per ear, indicating a positive effect of irradiation on certain agronomic traits.
To protect barley from pests such as the grain beetle, various insecticides containing active ingredients including acetamiprid, bifenthrin, imidacloprid, and others are used. These products provide effective protection for crops against insects, helping to preserve harvests and improve grain quality.
In addition, barley is used in the food industry in the form of an organic barley juice powder produced without GMOs, gluten, corn, or soy. This product is suitable for vegans and conforms to the paleo diet. It is rich in important bioactive compounds such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, making it beneficial for health and immune support.
