Czech breeding house Moravoseed has designed the Jersey variety to prioritize adaptability to unstable climatic conditions. The foundation of this spring barley is intensive metabolic research, focused on rapid root system development during periods of early spring moisture deficiency. Technical analysis indicates that the cultivar’s development strategy is heavily focused on an intensive tillering type.

Key Technological Nodes of Development

• Lodging Resistance: The morphological structure of the Jersey stem minimizes yield loss risks, even under high nitrogen fertilization levels. The tillering node is positioned at an optimal depth, ensuring strong tiller formation and synchronized stem maturation.
• Immune Framework: Moravoseed’s genetics provide built-in tolerance to leaf blotch and smut diseases. This significantly lowers the chemical pesticide requirements during the vegetation period.
• Ear Architecture: The dense grain arrangement within the ear allows for the realization of high yield potential. The grain is well-filled with a high hectolitre weight, which is critical for both brewing and feed industry processing.
