Grace

The spring barley variety Grace is a medium- or early-maturing (vegetative period 70-85 days) short-stemmed, high-yielding variety developed by German breeders Ackermann Saatzucht GmbH&Co. KG. It exhibits good resistance to lodging and is primarily intended for brewing purposes. The 1000-grain weight ranges from 39 to 50 grams, indicating high grain quality. This variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including Bryansk, Moscow, Tula, Lipetsk, and Orel Oblasts of Russia, as well as Akmola, Kostanay, and North Kazakhstan Oblasts of Kazakhstan.

Grace shows high resistance to rust and powdery mildew, as well as moderate resistance to rhiophytophthora. However, it is susceptible to downy mildew and helminthosporium, requiring mandatory seed treatment against rust fungi and fungicide applications to protect against rhiophytophthora and powdery mildew. Such measures ensure crop protection and maintain high grain quality.

The yield of this variety in state trials is approximately 77.2 centners per hectare, confirming its economic efficiency. Thanks to its agronomic traits and resistance to major diseases, barley Grace is a reliable choice for farmers focused on producing high-quality raw material for the brewing industry.
