Garant Premium — a medium-maturing spring barley variety developed by LLC 'Lugansk Institute of Selection and Technology' for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. The vegetation period is 93-98 days, plants are medium-height with two-row spikes of medium length (6-8 cm) and medium density (10-11 nodes per 4 cm spike stem). Grains are large, light-yellow, elongated-oval in shape, with high uniformity up to 95%, 1000-grain weight ranges from 43 to 52 g. The variety is suitable for both feed and food purposes. Garant Premium is characterized by high plasticity and intensity, allowing it to successfully adapt to various growing conditions, especially in dry and hot regions. It exhibits resistance to drought, heat, lodging, powdery mildew, rust, and stem borers. Thanks to these qualities, the variety ensures stable and high yields, reaching potential of 70-85 c/ha, even under extreme conditions. The crude protein content in the grain is 12.0-13.5%, making it valuable for feed and food purposes. High grain uniformity and resistance to shattering facilitate harvesting and final product quality.
