Maize DN Slavitsia

A Reliable Choice for Steppe Farming

DN Slavitsya is a simple maize hybrid developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the Steppe Zone of the NAAS, Ukraine. Its main strength lies in its robustness and adaptability to challenging climatic conditions, making it a reliable solution for producers operating in arid regions where crop stress is a constant concern.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

Designed primarily for grain production, this hybrid features a flint-dent grain type that balances yield potential with good storage characteristics. A standout feature of DN Slavitsya is its genetic resistance to common fungal pathogens that often compromise harvests in the region:

• High tolerance to head smut (Sphacelotheca reiliana);
• Significant resistance to common smut (Ustilago maydis);
• Proven efficacy against onion stem smut pathogens.

By investing in a hybrid with high natural immunity, farmers can significantly optimize their expenditure on chemical fungicides, contributing to better overall profit margins.

Why Choose DN Slavitsya?

Unlike intensive foreign hybrids that demand high fertilization rates and aggressive chemical support, DN Slavitsya is built for stability and efficiency. Its flint-dent grain ensures excellent threshing performance and storage durability. While it requires adherence to proper sowing dates to hit its peak potential, it is an ideal candidate for medium-sized farming operations that prioritize consistent yields over speculative, high-maintenance farming models. It is a workhorse that rewards sound agronomic practices with reliable, high-quality grain output.
