DN Slavitsia is a medium-early simple modified hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 250, developed by the Institute of Grain Farming of NAAN of Ukraine. The hybrid is intended for obtaining high yields of grain up to 12 t/ha under various climatic conditions, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe of Ukraine. Plants are tall, reaching a height of 250-270 cm, with a conical-cylindrical ear of length 21-23 cm, attached at a height of 100-110 cm. Grain is cream-toothed, yellow-orange, with a 1000-grain weight of 240-250 g and 16-18 rows. Grain yield is 84-85%.
The hybrid exhibits high drought resistance, ensuring stable yields even under dry conditions, as well as resistance to lodging and major diseases, including fungal diseases. Due to its rapid moisture loss from the grain, the hybrid matures quickly, allowing timely harvest. DN Slavitsia belongs to the homeostatic type, responds well to improved growing conditions, and has low requirements for agrofond, making it universal for various regions of Ukraine.
Advantages of the hybrid include resistance to stress factors such as drought and diseases, as well as high yield and grain quality. These characteristics make DN Slavitsia an attractive choice for farmers aiming to achieve stable and high yields of corn under diverse climatic conditions.
