Standing 70–80 cm tall, the plant features a robust stem, minimizing lodging risks during heavy rainfall. With a vegetation period of 80–90 days, "Hetman" is an excellent choice for regions prone to spring and summer droughts, allowing the crop to complete grain filling before the onset of extreme heat.

Technological Advantages and Protection

The breeding process for "Hetman" prioritized phytosanitary resilience. The variety offers a reliable barrier against smut diseases; loose and covered smuts pose minimal threat to these crops. Furthermore, the barley shows high resistance to helminthosporiosis, stem smut, and powdery mildew, significantly reducing the need for chemical pesticide intervention throughout the season.

Grain Quality

For processors, "Hetman" is valued for its consistent protein content (11–12%), which, combined with a 1,000-seed weight of 42–48 grams, results in plump, high-quality kernels. This makes the variety suitable for both animal feed and food production sectors.
