Getman

Hetman is a medium-maturing spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety, characterized by its low stature and high bushiness. It has a two-row ear type and belongs to the nutans variety. The plant reaches a height of 75-80 cm, with a vegetation period of 81-83 days. The thousand-grain weight varies from 42 to 49 grams, with highly uniform grain. The variety is included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region and is recommended for cultivation in the Stavropol Krai, as well as suitable for sowing in the forest-steppe and peatland areas. Hetman is valued for its technological qualities, especially in the brewing industry. The grain has high content of extractives (78-80%) and starch (58-62%), as well as protein content of about 10.8%. The variety exhibits good resistance to lodging, black smut, and powdery mildew (rating 8 points), as well as resistance to stone smut (7 points). However, it is susceptible to helminthosporiosis and powdery mildew, but resistant to hard mildew. Unprocessed Hetman barley is rich in beneficial substances and has a long storage life without oxidation. It is grown under ecologically clean conditions, away from large cities and industrial facilities, without the use of mineral fertilizers and agrochemicals. Thanks to this, the product retains its naturalness and freshness, confirmed by packaging on the day of order. Barley is used for producing whole-grain flour, natural kvass, decoctions, infusions, and germination. Additionally, it has the lowest glycemic index among cereals, making it beneficial for healthy nutrition.
