Field Performance of «Izi» Barley

When selecting seed material, every agronomist looks for a balance between consistent yields and operational efficiency. The «Izi» variety from «RVA Ukraine» has established itself as a reliable tool that performs well under Ukrainian climatic conditions without requiring overly complex management.

Agronomic Profile and Field Observations

The most distinctive feature of «Izi» is its stature, ranging from 60 to 70 cm. For those managing the harvest, this height is a significant advantage. The shorter straw makes the harvesting process much smoother: there is less biomass moving through the combine, allowing for higher ground speeds without sacrificing grain quality or increasing harvest losses. Furthermore, the variety shows excellent resistance to lodging, providing confidence even when high fertilizer rates are applied.

Operations and Maintenance

• Early Development: The variety shows vigorous germination. Even with shifted planting dates, «Izi» quickly establishes a dense, uniform stand, which is essential for uniform crop development across the entire field.
• Crop Protection: The semi-dwarf nature of the plant simplifies pesticide and herbicide applications. The sprayer booms can operate efficiently with minimal crop damage, and the improved air circulation within the canopy helps naturally suppress the risk of fungal infections.
• Harvesting Efficiency: Harvesting this variety is straightforward. The structure of the plant results in a very clean threshing process. This puts significantly less stress on the combine's cleaning system, saving fuel and time throughout the harvest season.

«Izi» from «RVA Ukraine» is essentially a choice for efficiency. If your operation prioritizes predictability and streamlined field logistics, this barley variety will meet your requirements, ensuring both high yields and an easier harvest.
