ZLATO

Zlato apple variety is an early winter dessert variety developed in Ukrainian selection, characterized by high yield and early fruiting, starting from 2-5 years depending on growing conditions. The tree is strong-growing or medium-growing with a spreading or rounded crown, resistant to various climatic conditions and soils, allowing cultivation throughout Ukraine. The variety has good winter hardiness, tolerating temperatures down to -12°C, and is resistant to major diseases such as scab, rust, powdery mildew, and bacterial burn, significantly simplifying care and increasing crop reliability.

The fruits of the Zlato apple variety have a round-pressed or round-conical shape, with an average weight ranging from 100 to 300 grams. The skin is thin, dense, and glossy, with a green-yellow hue and a slight blush that may cover a large portion of the fruit's surface. The flesh is creamy or pale, fine-grained, juicy, and aromatic, with a harmonious sweet-tart or sweet taste, making the apples an excellent choice for fresh consumption and production of high-quality light juices.

The harvest period falls at the end of September to the beginning of October, with fruits retaining quality until spring and exhibiting high transportability. The Zlato apple is suitable for cultivation on dwarf rootstocks, which allows control of tree size and facilitates harvesting. This variety is among the market leaders due to its combination of flavor quality, disease resistance, adaptability to climatic conditions, and high yield, reaching up to 50 kg per tree.
