Lidia

Lidia is a small-fruited summer apple variety developed in Buryatia and adapted for the East Siberian region. The tree is medium-sized with a medium-dense, rounded crown, characterized by winter hardiness and cold resistance up to -50°C, as well as resistance to scab. Fruits ripen at the beginning of the third decade of August and can be stored for up to 25 days, making them suitable for technical purposes. The variety has medium yield, reaching approximately 63 centners per hectare in industrial plantations.

The fruits of apple variety Lidia have a round, slightly flattened shape of the weakly ribbed type. The skin is tender, smooth, dry, and dull with a waxy coating, colored greenish-yellow with a covering red blush. The flesh is yellowish, juicy, with a slightly acidic-sweet taste and a mild aroma. The fruits contain an elevated amount of vitamin P — 366 mg per 100 grams, which is an important advantage of this variety.

Variety Lidia is rapid-fruiting and drought-resistant, making it suitable for cultivation in East Siberia. Despite its moderate yield, the apples exhibit good winter hardiness and disease resistance, ensuring stable fruiting.
