Uman Winter

The Uman Winter apple tree is a winter variety with high frost resistance and moderate resistance to fungal diseases. The tree is medium to vigorous in growth with a rounded or spreading crown of medium density, which becomes more rounded over time. It begins to bear fruit on the 3rd-4th year when grown on a medium-sized rootstock and on the 6th year on a vigorous rootstock. This variety is adaptable to various growing conditions and suitable for different regions.

The fruits of the Uman Winter apple are large and medium in size, weighing from 125 to 250 grams, with a correct flat-round shape. Their color ranges from greenish-yellow to dark yellow with a bright red or pinkish blush. The flesh is creamy, dense, fine-grained, very juicy, and has a balanced sweet-sour taste. The fruits ripen by the end of September and can be stored from November to May, retaining their flavor quality.

This variety is widely used for fresh consumption as well as for making jams, preserves, and juices due to its juiciness and flavor profile. The yield is approximately 60 kg per tree. Leaves and fruits show good resistance to scab, although powdery mildew may occur.
