RED AIDARED

The Red Aidared apple variety is a late-winter, high-yielding variety bred in the USA in 1935 by crossing the Jonathan and Wagner varieties. Trees of this variety are vigorous, with a spherical or oval crown of medium density, which is formed in the first six years of life. The leaves are dark green, and the flowers have a pinkish hue and a saucer shape. Flowering occurs early and lasts for a long time, accompanied by a pleasant honey aroma.

Red Aidared apple fruits are large, round in shape, weighing from 140 to 200 grams. The skin is smooth, thin, with a waxy coating, colored light green or yellow with an intense bright red blush. The flesh is light cream, dense, juicy and crisp, with a harmonious sweet-sour taste and moderate aroma. Apples form beautiful 'garlands' on the tree, which gives it special decorativeness.

The ripening period falls in late September - October, and the full bouquet of taste qualities is revealed by February. The fruits are well stored in cool conditions for 7-8 months, retaining their taste and commercial qualities, and also possess good transportability. The variety has medium winter hardiness and disease resistance, so it requires preventive treatments. For pollination, it is recommended to use Golden Delicious, Florina or Red Delicious varieties.
