The 'Lukomor' apple variety is a winter columnar variety developed at the All-Russian Selective and Technological Institute of Horticulture and Nursery. This variety was created by crossing columnar elite KV 6 with the rust immunity donor OR38T17, ensuring high resistance to this disease due to the presence of the Rvi6(Vf) gene. The tree differs in its small growth, reaching about 2 meters, with a columnar crown without lateral branches. Shoots are thick, straight, with gray-green coloration, while leaves are medium-sized, broadly obovate, dark green, and smooth. Flowers are small, cup-shaped, pinkish with oval petals. 'Lukomor' variety fruits have a medium size, weighing about 100-140 grams, with a round-conical regular shape, smooth, shiny skin of greenish color without background coloration. The flesh is white or slightly greenish, medium density, tender, juicy, and fine-grained with a sour-sweet taste and weak aroma. Fruits have high storability, retaining their qualities from October to February, and according to some data, up to March. Due to good transportability and attractive appearance, apples are suitable both for home gardening and commercial use. The variety differs in early productivity – entering fruiting already in the second year after planting, reaching high yields of up to 73.3 t/ha and more. Winter hardiness of the variety is at the level of the 'Melba' variety, and disease and pest resistance corresponds to the best varieties of the Moscow region. Among the merits of 'Lukomor', the columnar type of crown, immunity to rust, high fruit quality, and their good preservation stand out. However, with inadequate care, it is possible to reduce fruit size and transition to periodic fruiting.
