STRELA

The 'Strela' apple variety is a medium-sized columnar tree, 2-3 meters tall, with a neat, compact crown. The branches are thick, straight, and brownish-burgundy in color with a slight fuzz, while the leaves are elliptical with pointed tips and a smooth, glossy surface in a rich green color. The flowers are pale pink with a pleasant aroma, adding to the plant's decorative appeal. The columnar habitus of the crown allows for space saving and makes tree care easier.

The 'Strela' apple fruits are medium to above-average size, weighing from 155 to 220 grams, with a predominantly round, flattened shape. The main fruit color is yellow-green with a strongly expressed dark red or burgundy blurred-spotted blush. The fruit skin is dense, elastic, and glossy; the flesh is yellowish, juicy, tender, with a balanced sweet-sour dessert flavor and a strong aroma. The apples are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for canning.

The variety begins bearing fruit in the third or fourth year after planting; the harvest is collected in early autumn, and the consumption period covers the span from September to January. The apple tree is characterized by high winter hardiness (down to -35°C), resistance to scab, drought, and heat, making it a practical choice for cultivation in the Central Black Earth region and other similar climatic conditions. Despite its low-maintenance nature, it is recommended to ensure a suitable location and soil for successful growth.
