RELAINE

Reliant is an extra-early ripening grape variety without seeds, bred in the USA. It is distinguished by its high frost resistance and resistance to main fungal diseases. The growing season lasts 105–110 days, allowing you to harvest already at the beginning of August. Bushes are vigorous with well-developed root systems and branched structures. There are about 45–50% fruitful shoots, and shoot ripening reaches more than 80%, which contributes to stable yields at a level of 120–150 centners per hectare. The variety is suitable for growing in an unheated culture, which expands the possibilities of its cultivation in various climatic conditions. Reliant berries are small, round, weighing 2-3 grams, pink with a pale pink hue. The pulp is juicy and melting, with strong but not hard skin that easily separates from the bag. The taste of the berries is pleasant, with light strawberry and caramel notes; at the beginning of ripening, Izabella tones can also be felt. Sugar content reaches 24%, and acidity ranges from 6–7 g/l, which provides a harmonious taste. There are no seeds or small rudiments that are not felt when eaten. The variety is highly resistant to mildew and oidium, which reduces the need for frequent treatments; however, preventive measures are still recommended. Frost resistance is stated up to -27 °С, but according to the originator's data, the variety can withstand temperatures down to -34 °С, making it one of the most frost-resistant varieties bred by American scientists. In wet weather during ripening, berries may crack, which should be taken into account in agricultural technology. Reliant is excellent for fresh consumption and for the production of dried grapes with a pleasant caramel aroma.
