Amaranth FRANT

A striking aesthetic statement for your garden

The 'Frant' amaranth variety, developed by the Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR), is primarily a triumph of aesthetics. Unlike forage or grain-oriented varieties focused on biomass and nutritional value, 'Frant' is bred specifically for its ornamental impact. Its defining characteristic is its deep, rich burgundy inflorescence, which maintains its intensity throughout the growing season.

Why choose 'Frant'?

• Visual depth: The intense wine-colored plumes create a stark, elegant contrast against standard garden foliage.
• Scientific pedigree: As a product of a state research center, this variety ensures high genetic stability and predictable growth patterns.
• Design versatility: Ideal for specimen planting, mixed borders, or as a high-quality dried flower for interior décor.

Prospective growers should note that 'Frant' demands sunlight; in shaded conditions, the burgundy pigment may fade and the stem may become leggy, compromising its sculptural form. It is the optimal choice for landscapers and home gardeners looking to elevate their plots with architectural plants. 'Frant' is for those who view amaranth not merely as a crop, but as a key element in creating a sophisticated, atmospheric landscape.
