In terms of cultivation, this species requires a location with intense, unfiltered light. It is essential for the plant to maintain its compact growth habit and vibrant leaf coloration, as low-light environments often lead to etiolation and structural weakness.

The substrate must be highly mineral, mimicking the stony soils of its native habitat. A mix consisting primarily of pumice, coarse sand, and lava rock is ideal, as it prevents root suffocation and ensures that water passes through quickly without accumulating around the root neck.

Temperature management is a key aspect of its agrotechnology. The plant responds well to natural diurnal fluctuations, favoring warmer days and significantly cooler nights. It is not cold-hardy and should be protected from temperatures below 10°C to avoid physiological shock.

Watering requirements are strictly seasonal. During the active growth phase, the plant should be watered only when the substrate has completely dried out. In winter, the plant enters a period of dormancy, during which water should be withheld almost entirely to prevent root rot.

The most significant threat to Aloe werneri is moisture-related fungal infections, specifically those targeting the root system and the base of the rosette. Overwatering or poor substrate drainage can lead to Rhizoctonia or Pythium outbreaks.

In terms of pests, mealybugs are the primary concern. These insects often cluster deep within the tight leaf bases, making them difficult to detect and eradicate without systemic insecticides or mechanical removal using fine-tipped tools.
